At the forefront of the UK ska revival in the late 70s, The Specials were a multi-layered melting pot that embodied more than just their black and white checkered two-tone label logos

In the UK, their debut single "Gangster" reached #6 and every subsequent single was in the Top 10, including 2 x #1's. They released two Top 5 albums before going to the top of the UK Singles Chart with "Ghost Town"

In the current turbulent environment, 38 years later, "Encore" picks up almost exactly, stylistically and in content, where "Ghost Town" left off, taking on serious themes
