New album from Ida Nielsen, known primarily as Prince bassist. On "More Sauce, Please!" the songwriter and bandleader, visibly influenced by her musical background, combines funky beats, slap-bass virtuosity, lively rap and pop earworms with her signature 4-string Sandberg California electric bass in the foreground. Born in 1975 in the small Danish town of Aarhus, Ida Nielsen grabbed the bass guitar at the age of 16, after her early musical interest, and stuck to it. After graduating from the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen, she went on to play in several major bands. She toured Europe with the Belgian pop group Michael Learns To Rock. A little later, the Belgian-African band Zap Mama, founded by Zaire-born Marie Daulne, brought her on board as bassist for a tour. With her first solo album "Marmelade" (2008) she reached not only the enthusiastic press but also the attention of none other than Prince himself, who invited Ida Nielsen to a jam session in Paisley Park and finally engaged her from 2010 until his death in 2016 as singer and bassist for his bands The New Power Generation and 3rdEyeGirl. She also actively participated in the Prince albums "PlectrumElectrum", "Art Official Age", "Hitnrun Phase One" and "Hitnrun Phase Two". After more than 25 years of stage experience, Ida Nielsen, dubbed the "Slap Bass Queen" by the press, delivers a catchy and danceable mixture of bass-heavy funk, R&B, hip-hop and neo-soul with her sixth solo album "More Sauce, Please! Once again, she excels on her signature 4-string Sandberg California electric bass, while also taking on vocals and contributing multi-instrumental keyboard parts. Modern produced with ideally matched guests an energetic and at the same time convincing funk hit is created.
